REINVENTING a new concept of transit time ultrasonic flow sensor
ChallengeToday‘s technical standards for flow sensors requiremeasurements to be performed non-invasively andthrough a straight tube for easy cleaning, therebyavoiding both pollution of the fluid and sensor damage. Moreover, demanding flow metering and monitoringapplications require both a short response time andhigh flow-measurement accuracy. InnovationThis challenge in mind, DIGMESA AG developed an innovativenew measurement device for medium to high flowrates of 0.05 to 20 l/min, respecting strict fluid purity andflow metering requirements. DIGMESA has interpreted thewell known ultrasonic time of flight technology in a newway and presents this with its new ultrasonic devices. ApplicationsThanks to its technology and its measurement concept, thenew Digmesa Laser Flow-Sensor is perfect suited for handlinghigh-purity liquids in the semiconductor or chemicalindustries. The almost straight tube made out of certifiedplastics makes the device also a perfect choice for the foodand beverage marked. Key FeaturesThe Digmesa ultrasonic approach impresses with an easycleanable, almost straight measurement tube. The tube isout of one piece and therefore no dead ends are presentand particle deposits may be avoided.Despite all these mechanical advantages the Digmesa AGUltrasonic devices have no restrictions in the measurementproperties: huge dynamic range (0.05-20l/min) is givenas well as excellent accuracy. Technical dataTechnology: Ultrasonic (time of flight)Flow-Range: ~0.05-20 l/minAccuracy: +/- 2%Response time: ~50msTube diameter: ½”Material measurement tube: PFA (semiconductor version), PVDF, PBTMeasurable liquids: adapted for all kind of liquids with no or low contamination

Laser technology for measurement of liquid flow down to 0.5ml/min
*2009 Flow Control Innovation Award Nominee*LASER FLOW SENSOR ChallengeToday‘s technical standards for flow sensors requiremeasurements to be performed non-invasively andthrough a straight tube for easy cleaning, therebyavoiding both pollution of the fluid and sensor damage. Moreover, demanding flow metering and monitoringapplications require both a short response time andhigh flow-measurement accuracy, impossible to achieveusing existing sensors. InnovationThis challenge in mind, DIGMESA AG developed an innovativenew measurement technology for low flow rates, 1to 60 ml/min, respecting strict fluid purity and flow meteringrequirements. DIGMESA has designed a totally noninvasiveand non-intrusive measurement concept involvinga laser beam crossing a straight glass tube through whichthe fluid is flowing. ApplicationsThanks to its technology and its measurementconcept, the new Digmesa LaserFlow-Sensor is perfect suited for handlinghigh-purity liquids in the semiconductor, chemical or medical industries. Key FeaturesThe new liquid flowsensor technology, consists in a laseroriented perpendicular to the media flowing through astraight glass tube. The innovative, non-intrusive sensorconcept allows measurement of flow-rates in the 1-60ml/min range with response times of ~50ms and accuraciesbetter than 1% FS. Technical dataTechnology: Digmesa’s patented Laser-Flow measurement technologyFlow-Range: ~1-60ml/minAccuracy: < 1% FSResponse time: ~50msInner tube diameter: 4mmMaterial measurement tube: borosilicate glassMeasurable liquids: adapted to most clear water- and alcohol-based fluids
